Proofread or copyedit?
Proofreading and copyediting are often assumed to be one and the same. They are not, as a proofreader carries out a final check on edited material, picking up on any errors or inconsistencies that may have slipped through the editorial process, whereas a copyeditor makes more extensive changes at an earlier stage in the process.
